Heritage Reserve decanters

Using a selection of carefully chosen casks, the Glenfiddich Heritage Reserve has been specially created to commemerate Scotland's Royal Heritage.

Glenfiddich is proud to present the Heritage Reserve in this specially commissioned crock based upon a design that has been in existence for as long as Malt Whisky itself - a fitting celebration of Scotland's Royal Heritage. These decanters came available in three versions:

Mary Queen of Scots 1542 - 1587 - Green crock

Beautiful, passionate and proud, Mary Queen of Scots became Scotland's Queen when she was only nineteen years old. But the young, light-hearted girl was ill-matched to the temper of reformation Scotland. After her third marriage, the country rose up against her and she was deposed. Fleeing to England, Mary spent nineteen years under close arrest where the ill-feelings against her grew unbearable. Finally, her cousin, Elisabeth I, the Queen of England, signed her death warrant and Mary was executed at Fatheringshay Castle on 8 February 1587.

Rallying five thousand men, he nearly succeeded in his aim but was finally defeated at the calamitous battle of Culloden in 1746. Escaping to Skye and thence to France, he lived in excile as 'The Kinf Over The Water' and never returned to Scotland.
