Glenfiddich's  independence let them apply age-old craft to new whisky-making techniques. Glenfiddich Rich Oak is a 14 year old single malt finished for up to 12 weeks in new American and new Spanish oak casks. Alive with flavour, new oak needs precision handling by a master craftsman who understands exactly how quickly young wood interacts with our whisky. His mastery of oak, and the expert knowledge of their own onsite coopers who are committed to using only the best quality oak, has seen them personally source and help make our new oak casks in cooperages in Louisville, USA, and Jerez, Spain. This allows the aged whisky to take on just the right amount of extra flavours.

Nose:  A complex harmony of fresh fruits and spices. Initial spice oak notes follow vibrant vanilla and rich dried fruits.

Taste: Rich and sweet vanilla with a silky texture and elegant hints of fruit. Deeper and richer with time and a subtle nutty character emerges. 

Finish: Nutiness develops into a spicy oak finish.

Whilst the international variant only carried the age statement in text on the label, the French market version had a seperate print of the age staterment on the foot label.
