Experimental Series: Fire & Cane

The Experimental Series embodies the Grants' family philosophy of freedom and possibilities. Only by unlearning what we know and collaborating with like-minded mavericks can we try new things, experiment, push whisky boundaries and challenge traditions to create a range of ground-breaking single malts.

TO PIONEER A NEW MALT, GLENFIDDICH CREATED A NEW CRAFT BEER

The IPA Experiment together with Project XX (Experiment 2), were the first two variants that made the Experimental Series and were launched in 2016. Late 2017, Batch 1 of Winterstorm was released, followed by the 2nd batch around April 2018. Fire & Cane was released later that year.

For Fire & Cane, Glenfiddich used peated Glenfiddich and our regular malts both matured in bourbon barrels before being married and then finished in Latin rum casks. Fire & Cane is inspired by the early innovation of Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman, who in 2003, first ran peated spirit through the Glenfiddich stills.

Nose: Billowing soft peat notes, like distant smoke on the wind. Rich sweet toffee with zesty fresh fruit notes and spiciness.

Taste: Like a Highland peat campfire, with oak notes and toffee. Sharp green fruit, swet baked apple and soft smoke.

Finish: Lingering smikiness and sweetness.

Colour: Golden

ABV: 43%

In France, Fire & Cane was released in a tube, whilst in all other markets it was released as a naked bottle. In the 2023 redesign, Fire & Cane permanantly got a tube.
